Polarization-diversity receiver performance of 2.5-Gb/s CPFSK regenerators in a field trial

Abstract

A successful field experiment used installed cables and newly fabricated coherent regenerators that were each composed of a 2.5-Gb/s CPFSK transmitter and a heterodyne polarization-diversity receiver.1 This paper describes the performance of the polarization-diversity receiver in the field trial.
