Abstract

The reliability of silica optical fiber is usually determined by extrapolating the results of accelerated laboratory tests to the lower strengths and applied stresses encountered in practical applications by using the well-known subcritical crack-growth model for fatigue, which relates the time to failure & to the applied stress σa
