Abstract

Recently, a great effort was made to find transmission schemes intrinsically insensitive to phase noise and polarization fluctuations. Some new system solutions employing polarization modulation [or polarization shift keying (POLSK)] have been proposed, leading to both phase noise and polarization fluctuation insensitive systems3 or only phase-noise insensitive simplified versions.1,2
