Abstract

Optical FDM or dense WDM systems are very attractive for future broadband information distribution networks. To date, 16-channel optical FDM distribution networks have been demonstrated.(1),(2). Wide band tunable LDs are required for heterodyne receivers, and tunable narrow bandpass filters with a high FSR are required for direct detection receivers.
