Abstract

Various characteristics of the silica core single-mode fiber have been reported1 ; however, no paper has yet reported the fiber’s fusion splicing characteristics. We present our results of splice loss measurements, comparing them with those for Ge-doped core fiber. The fibers we tested were shown as follows.
