Abstract

Distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes (LD) have become a most promising high-power single-frequency light source tor long-distance high-capacity optical fiber communication systems as well as for coherent detection transmission systems. This paper reviews the latest results of performance and reliability of InGaAsP/lnP DFB LDs in the 1.3- and 1.5-pm wavelength regions.
