Abstract

Temperature and dose-rate dependence of the radiation damage in doped fibers has been studied by Friebele et al.1 This paper will discuss this dependence, but for (A) pure silica core F-added cladding SM fiber and (8) Ge-doped core pure silica cladding SM fiber. Fiber (A) shows smaller radiation sensitivity for all the conditions studied. The activation energy of some defects is calculated.
