Abstract
The piezoelectric bender beam directing apparatus is described in previous papers.1,2 it consists of two piezoelectric bender elements connected in series to produce bidimensional movement. An optical fiber tip is attached to the benders free end and is movable in the focal plane of a lens. The emerging beam is collimated by the lens and is directable by determining the position of the fiber end. In a similar fashion, this apparatus may be operated as a directable receiver.
