Abstract

Valtec is unique in so far that it is a relatively small fiberoptics company but owned, for exactly 50% each, by two very large electronics conglomerates, M/A-COM and Philips. Both partners are accustomed to approach product/market opportunities with vigor and decisiveness but also in strict anticipation of proper financial returns. This necessitates Valtec to conduct its business with the utmost possible precision in forecast and execution.
