Abstract

The application of linear systems concepts to multimode fiber communication has proven to be a useful design tool. As single-mode fiber becomes more widely used, it is important to examine whether or not it may be considered to be a linear element within an optical system. This paper investigates time-frequency relationships for monomode fibers.
