Coupling Effect between Silicon Nitride Optical Waveguide and Gold Nanoparticle Chain in the Visible Spectrum

Abstract

We theoretically demonstrate that a TE dielectric waveguide mode can be partially coupled into a metal nanoparticle chain’s transverse plasmon mode in the visible spectrum range with a compromise between resonance wavelength and coupling efficiency.
