Simulation and Demonstration of Large-capacity Fiber-delay-line Buffer for Optical Packet Switch

Abstract

A required buffer size of fiber delay lines to resolve packet contentions was estimated from a simulation using pipelined algorism. Additionally, 31-fiber delay line buffer which consisted of tree-structured optical switches and fiber-sheets was demonstrated.
