Demonstration of 100 Gb/s 16APSK(4-Amplitude x 4-Phase) Coherent PON System Using a Few MHz-Linewidth LD

Abstract

A modulation format of 4-bit-per-symbol with only four phases is proposed to realize a low-cost system tolerant of phase noise for 100-Gb/s PON. A dual-polarized 100-Gb/s system with the proposal at 12.5-Gbaud is successfully demonstrated.
