Abstract

A blue-violet optical head that combines two laser beams while recording and isolates them during playback has been developed. Leaked light from the adjacent beam was evaluated and almost no crosstalk was observed during playback. A parallel-write-and-read experiment using this head demonstrated that high-speed operation could be performed.
