Two-dimensional modulation codes for page-oriented optical data storage systems

Abstract

We present 2-D modulation coding schemes of low computational complexity that overcome intersymbol interference in page-oriented optical data storage systems. The techniques improve the bit-error-rate performance and have typical code rates of 4/9 = 0.4444.
