Fiber-Optic Parametric Devices for DWDM

Abstract

Fiber-Optic parametric devices (FOPDs) are very attractive for DWDM. In principle, a single device can exhibit flat spectral response over the full high transparency bandwidth of fibers. We review selected topics of FOPDs, including limitations arising from fiber non-uniformity and Brillouin scattering.
