Raman gain properties of germania-based core silica fiber

Abstract

Raman amplification in singlemode fiber with germania-based core and silica cladding was investigated for the first time. Very short efficient Raman lasers based on this fiber were developed in 1.1 and 1.6 pm spectral bands.
