Abstract

Soliton self-frequency shift (SSFS) and simultaneous compression of mode-locked pulses at 10-GHz-repetition-rate are demonstrated in a photonic crystal fiber. We obtained sub-300 fs pulses upto1.61µm from 1.4-ps pulses at 1.56 µm wavelength using 12-m-long highly nonlinear fiber.
