Abstract

The first field trial using novel 1,48-pin pumped hybrid (remote two-stage and doublepass type EDF + distributed Raman) inline-type amplifiers is demonstrated; it offers 1,28-Tbit/s capacity and 100-GHz spacing over a record 528-km (6×88 km) of terrestrial installed-DSF in a straight line.
