Design and Simulation of a New Planar Optical Waveguide Amplifier

Abstract

An innovative layout for Er-doped planar optical waveguide amplifiers is proposed. The device integrates on a single chip the amplifier section and the pump/signal demultiplexer enhancing the compactness and the mechanical stability.
