Abstract

We present a novel EDFAs pumping scheme that while using uncooled pump diode lasers, permit to avoid the fluctuation of gain that are caused by the variation of 980nm pumps operating temperature. These pumping configuration permits to realize low cost temperature stabilized gain modules while maintaining a relatively high stability of gain efficiency and spectral shape.
