Cascadability of nonlinear-optical-loop-mirror wavelength converters

Abstract

Signal transmission through cascaded nonlinear optical loop mirrors (NOLM’s) is theoretically studied. Numerical simulation shows that pulse trains can be transmitted over many NOLM’s with suppressed intensity noise when the operation condition is optimally chosen.
