20 Gbit/s all-optical logic XOR using integrated interferometric wavelength converter

Abstract

Penalty-free logic XOR is performed at 10 Gbit/s using an SOA-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer allowing simple, stable and efficient operation. Furthermore, using this device, 20 Gbit/s all-optical XOR is demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge.
