Robust all-optical control of a semiconductor optical amplifier flip-flop

Abstract

We demonstrate the digital memory capability of an all-optical flip-flop using set signals from 1533 to 1568 nm (330 fJ minimum) and ‘positive’ reset pulses at 1306 and 1466 nm (36pJ).
