Abstract

We study broadband Raman gain in a -1300 ps/nm DCF using polarization-combined four channel WDM 14xx nm laser diodes. A 50 nm bandwidth lossless operation of the DCF and noise figure < 4.7 dB in a 20 nm bandwidth in-line EDFA with the Raman-amplified DCF are demonstrated.
