Abstract

Reliability of 980nm fiber amplifiers has been demonstrated through the analysis of actual field data collected from amplifiers deployed in several hundred locations of long distance networks. In particular, pump laser reliability based on data of 3.6 million device hours of operation is shown to be compliant to telecom requirements.
