Abstract
Fiber nonlinear effects are a serious issue for long span optical repeater transmission systems. Considering a coherent system, a phase noise induced by amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise through the Kerr effect may limit total transmission length. Several investigations have been made regarding the nonlinear phase noise and linewidth broadening [1]-[3].
