On-chip Inductive Peaking to Boost the Silicon Modulator Bandwidth

Abstract

We present a new method for increasing the bandwidth of integrated electro-optic modulators by compensating the large intrinsic junction capacitance and on-chip inductive peaking. Simulation shows a small signal bandwidth enhancement of more than 30%.
