Abstract

The compactness and precise waveguide length control of integrated photonics are fueling the integrated microwave photonic approach, integrating key RF functions on a chip. We describe current efforts using hybrid integration to optimize the performance of different photonic components avoiding the compromises on a monolithic approach.
