Application-Driven Flexible Optical Interconnects for Future Data Centers

Abstract

We discuss hierarchical all-to-all interconnects for data centers that rapidly and flexibly reconfigures interconnection topology and bandwidth depending on driving applications. Results indicate ~ 2x increases in throughput and ~5x energy-efficiency across the entire network.
