Few-mode Fibers and Equalization Technique for MDM Transmission with MIMO DSP

Abstract

We review recent work on few-mode fibers for mode-division-multiplexed transmission with MIMO DSP and introduce our low DMD 10-spatial-mode fiber and equipartition multiplexing technique for equalizing channel dependent impairment induced by MDL and modal cross-talk.
