Increased Sensitivity in Discriminating Surgical Motor Skills Using Prefrontal Cortex Activation over Established Metrics

Abstract

Objective assessment of surgical skill is still a challenging task. In this work, we report that fNIRS can monitor surgical motor skills, leading to increased specificity when differentiating competency than current established metrics.
