Chaotic switching in coherently driven, passively coupled nonlinear optical resonators

Abstract

We show that a system of coupled passive resonators that are coherently driven exhibit transitions to chaotic regimes due to the existence of a symmetric pair of homoclinic orbits of Shilnikov type.
