Fermi-Pasta-Ulam recurrences of incoherent waves

Abstract

We predict the existence of Fermi-Pasta-Ulam recurrences of incoherent waves. They originate in the spontaneous creation of correlated fluctuations and are characterized by a reduction of entropy that violates the Boltzmann’s H-theorem of entropy growth.
