Controlled Collisions of Dissipative Solitons

Abstract

Controlled merging and annihilation of dissipative solitons are compared via theoretical modelling and experiments in a nonlinear optical fibre resonator. The agreement is remarkable. These interactions fundamentally differ from those found for conventional conservative solitons.
