Modulational instability and pulse generation in dispersion oscillating fiber ring cavities

Abstract

We show that the use of dispersion oscillating fiber in passive cavities significantly extend modulational instability to new branches of the steady response and to novel spectral bands, resulting into enhanced pulse train formation.
