Relative Humidity Measurement with a Thin Gelatin Film

Abstract

A relative humidity (RH) detector consisting of a thin gelatin film inserted in a Mach – Zehnder interferometer is proposed. Due to swelling of the gelatin, by the water vapor absorption, interference pattern is modified and RH is measured.
