Observation of linear properties in a Sawtooth photonic lattice

Abstract

We study a Sawtooth photonic lattice, possessing two linear bands. The lower band becomes flat at a critical parameter, presenting linear localized modes. We found surfaces modes appearing at the gap between the two bands.
