Longitudinal and periodic modulation of the dispersion of an optical fiber : a new degree of freedom in nonlinear optics

Abstract

We investigate theoretically and experimentally the MI process in a dispersion oscillating fiber. An important number of unstable frequencies over 10 THz are generated that then lead to a new degree of freedom for tailoring nonlinear effects.
