Optical Parametric Oscillation on a Chip

Abstract

We demonstrate an integrated multiple wavelength source based on parametric oscillation via four-wave-mixing gain in a high-index doped-silica ring resonator. We obtain lasing with spacings from 200 GHz to >6THz, and a threshold of 54mW.
