Abstract

Exceeding the fluorescence spectrum limit of the laser gain material, broadband ultrashort pulse generation was obtained directly from the mode-locked laser oscillators with intracavity nonlinear medium. The output spectrum of the oscillator is much broader than the fluorescence of the gain material and the pulse-width is much shorter than the Fourier transform limit of the fluorescence.
