Abstract
We study theoretically and numerically how the phase-locked second harmonic component is localized and enhanced inside a highly absorbing cavity environment. The aim is to prove the quadratic relation that links the efficiency of this component to the quality factor of the cavity. These results are applied to the design of a new low-cost and easy to build UV source.
