Parity-Time Symmetry and Coupling Effects in Quantum Dot MicroDisk Lasers

Abstract

PT-symmetric effects were investigated in coupled quantum dot microdisk lasers by application of spatially varying gain and loss. Splitting was observed for balanced gain while side mode suppression occurred when gain/loss contrast was applied.
