Abstract
The optical properties of liquid crystal (LC) gratings with ternary orientation domains were investigated for Stokes polarimetry applications. A measurement scheme of the Stokes parameters of incident light was proposed based on the polarization-dependent diffraction characteristics of the fabricated LC grating. The applicability of the proposed grating-based Stokes polarimetry was confirmed experimentally for lineally polarized incident light.
