Resonant single mode thermal emitter based on a silicon waveguide

Abstract

We present the design of an integrated single mode narrowband thermal emitter that generates light from a heated waveguide. Wavelength selection is realized by a photonic bandgap cavity that is critically coupled to the waveguide.
