Birefringent Polymer for Optically Angular Displacement Sensors

Abstract

A thin birefringent-polymer plate has been demonstrated successfully as an optically angular displacement sensor. The experimental results show that the dynamic ranges and resolutions are dependent on the relative refractive indices between the polymer and the surrounding medium.
