Optical Polymer Waveguides for Biomedical Applications

Abstract

Optical glass/plastic fibers are widely used in medicine for bringing light into target tissues. Here, we demonstrate waveguides based on biocompatible polymers and hydrogels, enabling new approaches and functionalities for in-body applications.
