Super-harmonic oscillations in a resonant tunneling diode with optical feedback

Abstract

We experimentally study a Resonant Tunneling Diode with optical feedback, exhibiting GHz oscillations at frequencies determined by the feedback time. The phenomena underlying the dynamics, determining the pulsing frequencies and frequency tunability perspectives are discussed.
