Abstract

We generate ultrabroadband pulses with spectrum ranging from 1–2.2 µm by optical parametric amplification in a BBO crystal pumped by a 712-nm tuned Ti:sapphire laser pulse. Monocycle pulses can be realized at the Fourier limit.
