Stepwise Quantum Phonon Pumping in Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering

Abstract

Theory and experiments show that, in extremely intense plasmonic hotspots, the quantum nature of molecular vibration results in stepwise pumping of phonons and a complicated nonlinear Raman scattering intensity versus laser power relation.
